Money Buddy
Privacy policy
Effective date: 16 September 2026
Money Buddy is a personal finance ledger made by Mrigendra. This policy explains what information the Android app handles.
The short version
Money Buddy is designed to work offline. Your ledger, accounts, categories, notes and other information you enter are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a user account system, advertising system or analytics service for the app.
Information stored by the app
The app stores the information you choose to enter, such as transactions, account names, categories, dates, notes, people, investments, loans and settings. If you create a backup, the app creates a copy of the local database file and lets you choose where to save it. Backups are under your control.
Information we collect
We do not collect, sell or share your financial information. The app does not require an internet connection and does not send your ledger to our servers. We do not use your financial information for advertising or profiling.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Money Buddy may use them on your device for reminders that you configure, such as upcoming payments or returns. Notification permission can be withdrawn in Android settings.
Sharing and deletion
Money Buddy does not automatically share your data. You decide whether to export or share a backup using Android’s system controls. You can delete your app data or uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data. Keep a backup first if you may need to restore it.
Children
Money Buddy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated before the change takes effect. The effective date above indicates the latest version.
